The cost of a vacation can really add up when you take into account travel, accommodation, food and spending money. But what many people don't consider is vacationing somewhere in it's off season. Why pay higher rates to travel and vacation in a location when it is at it's busiest time, where it's harder to get the most economic bookings and some activities may be so busy they are booked out.
By no means are we saying you should visit a tropical island during it's cyclone season, but by simply booking your vacation several weeks after it's busy period you can really get a much better vacation experience. You are not really missing out on the best the vacation spot can offer as it is that close to the on season. Also when you vacation in quieter periods there is less competition for activities, accommodation and even eating out. Many different businesses are also likely to offer much lower prices during the off seasons (or away from busy periods) due to the lower number of customers.
So next time you are planning your vacation, think about changing the date to a less busy period. This way you experience more of the location and may just end up with better (and lower) prices.
